Bookbinding mull

Bookbinding mull – a classic and reliable reinforcement for books

Bookbinding mull is a high-quality cotton fabric with an open plain weave, similar to medical gauze or a non-elastic bandage. It is coated with animal glue, which provides appropriate stiffness and prevents the fibers from fraying during cutting. This ensures excellent durability both in the production process and in everyday use of the book. Our offer also includes mull-laminated paper – a modern alternative that effectively replaces traditional mull, crepe paper, or nonwoven fabric. In this material, a delicate mull fabric is firmly bonded to a thin layer of paper, which facilitates application, ensures precise alignment with the book block, and accelerates the production process. Both bookbinding mull and mull-laminated paper create a strong and durable connection between the book block and the cover, ensuring stability, flexibility, and long-lasting binding quality. Thanks to their structure, these materials are highly compatible with various types of adhesives used in bookbinding, including both traditional animal glues and modern synthetic adhesives.
