Spine cardboard

Spine cardboard – a flexible reinforcement of the book spine that ensures durability and an aesthetically finished binding.

Spine cardboard is a special type of cardboard used in bookbinding to reinforce the spines of books. Thanks to its durability and flexibility, it provides additional protection and stability to the book cover, which is especially important for books that are frequently used. This type of board is easy to cut and shape, allowing for precise adjustment to different book sizes and formats. It is available in various widths and supplied in rolls. A major advantage of using this material is the possibility of automating the process of applying it to hard covers, which significantly increases production efficiency. It is most commonly used in production processes on KOLBUS DA and HORAUF BDM machines. This material is characterized by good glue absorption, does not fray, and does not delaminate. It works perfectly with most types of animal glues.
